Welcome to
Affinity EDM

Supporting health and wellbeing at work

At Affinity EDM we are committed to changing how people experience ill health or disability in the workplace, whether as employers or employees.

We offer a range of tailored, cost-effective vocational, case management and rehabilitation services. Founded by Fiona Rumney, who has more than 30 years’ professional experience, Affinity EDM provides affordable services to support employees, employers and managers.

Only 20% of disabled people were born with their condition. Anyone, at any time, may develop an illness or disability that means they will need support to be able to continue to work as they have done.

There are also thousands of people struggling with genuine but undiagnosed conditions such as dyslexia, autism, ADHD or poor mental health. For them, a screening assessment leading to a diagnosis can be life-changing, giving them and their families and employers a better understanding of their difficulties and what strategies can help them.

All of the long-term health conditions that can impact employees give employers additional legal responsibilities. We can advise on those and provide training to support your team.

Affinity EDM is committed to working to the VRA UK, CMSUK and IRCM standards and best practice guidelines in our scope of practice. Fiona Rumney and her associates are fully insured for professional indemnity and public liability.

Vocational Evaluation

This service can be provided on a remote or face-to-face basis and provides a comprehensive and holistic evaluation of a person’s vocational skills and experience. It is designed for individuals with complex or multiple barriers to gaining and/or retaining sustainable employment.

Vocational Case Management

Vocational Case Management is a holistic and personalised service designed to support people with barriers to employment due to disability or ill health. It is delivered through regular contact with clients over an agreed period of time by a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant.

Dyslexia Screening

Screening is a cost-effective, highly accurate first step if someone is struggling with writ-ten tasks or processing written information, and yet they have other abilities which show they do have capacity to work at an appropriate level for their role.

Return to Work Planning and Job Search Support

Holistic, proactive and person-centred support services, tailored to individual need and circumstances. They’re designed for people navigating employment challenges due to disability, injury or neurodivergence and learning differences who would benefit from support with job search, CV preparation or review and redeployment into a new job role.

Transferable Skills Analysis

This is suitable for when a change of career is needed, for example, following an injury that prevents a person from returning to their previous job role or following redundancy.

Mental Health Awareness Training for Managers and Employers

Mental ill health can affect anyone at any time, sometimes prompted by external triggers in someone’s personal life, coping with health or personal issues, large scale events like the global pandemic and its aftermath, or economic pressures and uncertainties. Whilst this is becoming better understood, it can create significant disruption and costs to employers due to the impact on an employee’s productivity and/or sickness absence.
